When Abraham was instructed by God Almighty to sacrifice his only son Isaac
in the region named
Moriah (God is my Teacher)
Abraham wakes up early the next morning and takes two servants and his only son on a trip to fulfill God’s command. After 3 days they arrive to the location and Abraham tells his servants to wait with the donkey while he and his son will go to worship and “then we will come back to you“.
On the way to the spot of Worship
Isaac addresses an important question to his father Abraham:
“The fire and wood are here, Isaac said, but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?”
Abraham answered, “God Himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.”
The rest of the story is a teaching on how a test becomes a testimony that highlights the Providence of Jehovah Jireh:
God who provides Himself as the Sacrifice.
