When I was younger I used to want time to speed up

I couldn’t wait to get older

Now that im older I feel every minute

Its like the time is moving faster than anything I can keep up with

So I let it

I let the time speed past and leave me in the past

I can figure it out later

I figure if I can find something valuable now then time will wait for me to catch up

To take a second glance at what was first overlooked

Time went away from my tortoise pace

And instead favored the hare efficiency

Graced them with temporal gifts and honor

But when its time for me cross that finish line

I won’t receive first place

For my swiftness was found lacking

I will however bring treasures all my own

Tokens of my memories

The steady path has shown me a grand

Blessing

To gather trinkets along the way

And bequest them to the beloved
