(Matthew 24:8) The beginning of labor pains….

Love Labor

labor in Loving God First (Matthew 22:35-40, Mark 12:28-34, Luke 10:27)

Labor in loving your neighbor

The centurion who sent word to the Word (Luke 7: 1-10)

Saying say the Word and I know he will be healed

The centurion trusted his words would be delivered as said

That’s Faith

The same is so when John the Baptist was in a cell awaiting to be beheaded;

He sent words to the Word(through his students)

Asking Are you the one who is to come or should we expect someone else?

(Luke 7: 18-21)

John the Baptist Baptized Jesus (Matthew 3:13-17, Mark 1:9-11, Luke 3:21-22, John 1:32-34)

and was filled with The Holy Spirit while in his mother Elizabeth’s womb (Luke 1:15)

John The Baptist knew the identity of his cousin

The reason

He gave those words to his students was because he was preparing them for their journey of testimony

When they went to Jesus and asked the words that John had given them, Jesus’ reply tells them to go back to John and report to him the things that ye have seen:

The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor.”

Those miracles would be witnessed by them that day as a way of establishing the Truth through eye witness testimony

Surely they  went on to tell many of the things which they saw that day; and their Faith was their story. Their Faith was shown through going without changing the words that were given to them.

As an example,

John had a mind for his students even as he was on the way to be put to death

John the Baptist put his love to work

by putting his students before worry for himself

Similarly the centurion showed faith by trusting his messengers to send the message to Christ complete and without distortion.

It seems Faith involved trust

Without Faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6)

Is it possible to have Faith without Trust?
